At the beginning of February 2011 was held a policy debate on the review of the TEN-T trans-European transport network at Gödöllö in Hungary. In the discussions has been involved the transport ministers of the 27 Member States, European Vice-President Siim Kallas and Chairman of the TRAN committee of European Parliament Brian Simpson. The informal meeting, initiated by the Hungarian Presidency treated issues realted to transport network planning methodology and financing.
In summer 2011 the European Commission is expected to publish its legislative proposal on the review of the TEN-T policy. The meeting has been seen as an opportunity for a high-level discussion for the future of the TEN-T policy and the member States underlined to the Hungarian Presidency that the revision of the policy was timely and essential.
