Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve Authority (D.D.B.R.A.) organizes the International Conference on Conservation, Recovery and Sustainable Use of Sturgeons of the Danube River. The event will be held in Tulcea, Romania, from March 30th to April 1st at Delta Hotel.
Organized within the framework of DANUBEPARKS project, the aim of this conference is to facilitate the exchange of experience and the dialogue between the national and international experts on recovery and restauration of threatened sturgeon populations and the managers and specialists in the field of fisheries and protected waters or areas of the Danube.
The first two days will be dedicated to presentations and discussions among the experts, while the third day will be a field trip to the Aquarium of the Institute of Eco-Museal Research from Tulcea, the monitoring stations for migratory fish from Isaccea, D.D.B.R.A. and Horia and a station for sturgeon artificial reproduction.
For internal purposes of the DANUBEPARKS project, a fourth day will be added (April 2nd) to develop a Life+ project on Sturgeon conservation. This workshop day will be limited to potential project partners, but results will be made publicly available on the DANUBEPARKS website.
