The final conference of I³SME project which was held this Monday 21 March 2011 in the Austrian House of Industry in Vienna was dedicated to “New Business Success Models”.
The event was kicked off with an international business to business (B2B) meeting giving the opportunity to initiate new business relations. “Theory of Constraints” - a successful management model of the Israeli physicist and best-selling author Eli Goldratt which helps to improve efficiency of processes by around 30 percent was then introduced by German author and business consultant Uwe Techt.
Followed up by few presentations the floor was finally given to the International Hidden Champions, the most innovative SMEs identified through the innovation benchmarking carried out during the I³SME project. Best practices, one of which ACC Austria GmbH yesterday also received the Austrian State Price on Innovation, were shared. To see the full catalogue please click here.
This innovation benchmarking system introduced by I³SME project encourages r companies to look beyond their own fence, overcome the bottlenecks and use this knowledge as an advantage. "You can only sell the screw, when you can sell the car", as it was summarised during the discussion.
The conference opened a lot of ideas and potentials for further cooperation between SMEs and different organisations and institutions in the field of innovation and benchmarking. Thus, the way is clear for further shaping Europe’s SME landscape by new innovations, stronger cooperation and a spirit of optimism
