Participatory forest planning and forest biomass based renewable energy

The event agenda

The Regional Council of Limousin organizes an international conference from Tuesday the 17th of May 2011 in Limoges from 9h00 to 17h00 about the multifunctional role of forests to the 19th of May. Through round table discussions, analysis and action leads will be tackled to answer to the following question: How can forests contribute to the economic development of a territory?
This event is labellised "2011 - International Year of Forests".

A first international conference of the Robinwood Plus program had already been organized in January 2011 in Miercurea Ciuc (Romania) on the sustainable forest management centred on two major themes: participatory forest planning and forest biomass based renewable energy.

The objectives of this international conference are to:
- Officially present the Best Practice Knowledge Data Base « BPKB » of the internet site www.robinwoodplus.eu where the best practices selected by the Robinwood Plus project can be displayed.
- Compare differences (states, approaches, projects) of partner regions on forest and wood theme
- Activate an awareness of the potentialities of this sector
- Promote future cooperation on the basis of described solutions: bring concrete answers to territories

This conference is structured in two roundtable discussions :
- « How can we manage to use local forest resources in public and private construction? »
- « Forests, men, knowledge, products: one Territory»
