The North Norway European Office, who represent the counties of Nordland and Troms in the northernmost part of Norway, was at a NEEBOR meeting in Brussels the 4th of November welcomed as a member of the NEEBOR network. For the region of North Norway the cooperation with North-West Russia is of great importance. Both politically, for the business and for the civil society. This eastern external border cooperation with Russia also very much include the Barents-Euro Arctic Cooperation, both nationally and on the regional level. The county of Troms is also for the time being chair of the Barents Regional Council. The North Norway European Office also works in close relationship with the Norwegian Barents Secretariat in the border town Kirkenes. The North Norway European Office hopes to be a active member of the NEEBOR network and contribute in the good work already done in the network. |
