NELI partners, SCOM representatives and important guests attended the NELI events organized by Ennshafen between the 11th and 13th of October 2010.
The first day was dedicated to the PP meeting on the duration of which NELI partners presented and discussed the progress of project activities. The synergies between NELI and EDINNA were emphasized following the delivery of a presentation by Mr. Arejn Mintjes, chairman of EDINNA who also offered the participants a general outline of the STCIN currently under elaboration by EDINNA.
The second day, SCOM representatives were informed on the project implementation phase as well as identified present and future constraints and measures needed to be taken. Mr. Bernd Birklhuber, NELI observer from the Austrian Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology also attended the meeting and reasserted the interest of the Austrian Federal Ministry in NELI’s contribution to relevant chapters of NAIADES: jobs and skills, image and development of new markets for inland navigation.
A five hour transnational workshop for the promotion of the ITCs to be developed under NELI also took place on the 12th of October. A large audience representing shipping companies, ports, service providers greatly appreciated the NELI initiative to set up Information and Training Centres and actively participated in the discussions afterwards.
Mr. Otto Schwetz, chairman of Corridor VII, referring also to the Danube Strategy to be presented next year also said that it is important to have institutions promoting the IWT sector as one of the main targets is to attract IWT personnel for future European transport system. The transnational workshop ended with a port sightseeing tour and visit of the Donau. Fluch und Segen exhibition.
NELI partners involved in the implementation of eLearning services under WP4, attended the workshop organized by the WP leader FHOO in Steyr on the 13th of October. The aim of the workshop was for the PPs to get familiar with the authoring tool of the ILIAS eLearning platform and find out more about the different tools and approaches for the creation of learning modules content.
