The CENTRAL EUROPE Programme has dedicated its last call to the specific subtopics (Areas of Interventions). The 4th and last call for project proposals is foreseen to open in week 23 (between 6-10 June 2011) and to close in week 41 (between 10-14 October 2011)
The following five Areas of Interventions only will be open:
1.3: Fostering knowledge development, which aims at improving the framework for the knowledge development as it relates to human capital in order to ensure economic competitiveness
, the connection of the educational system to the leading edge of technology and business practices, and availability of complementary knowledge from different actors.
2.4: Promoting information and communication technology, as well as alternative solutions for enhancing access, which seeks to improve accessibility of information and services, while reducing traffic volumes. Better solutions (technological and alternative) for enhanced mobility will be achieved.
3.4: Supporting environmentally friendly technologies and activities aiming at the promotion of environmentally friendly technologies and activities to ensure eco-efficient production processes.
4.1: Developing polycentric settlement structures and territorial cooperation. Here the project seeks to achieve a more balanced territorial development by improved urban and urban-regional cooperation.
4.3: Capitalising on Cultural Resources for More Attractive Cities and Regions fostering sustainable use of cultural resources and heritage and to support the capitalisation on cultural resources.
The funds available for the 4th call for proposals will be of at least 20,7 Million Euro ERDF. Additional funds might become available in case of savings from already approved projects. The ERDF allocation to each of the aforementioned 4 priorities is subject to an approval procedure by the European Commission. Partnerships consisting of public and private representatives of at least three Member States have the possibility to submit their project proposals. Following the submission of the applications, the quality of the proposed projects will be assessed and the ones promising the best results will be selected. These projects can expect a co-financing rate of up to 75 percent in “old” and up to 85 percent in “new” Member States.
