INTERACT is organising the second meeting scheduled by the pilot event on Cooperation in Objectives 1 and 2, taking place in Bergen, Norway, on June 14.
When we started this pilot activity, we were concentrating on Article 37.6(b) of Regulation 1083/2006, to acquire information, examples and support as well as to disseminate awareness about this article and support the European Territorial Commission in its purpose.
After our kick-off event in Paris we learnt that cooperation is not only delivered through the channels of ETC and 37.6(b), but it is a choice that every programme authority can make according to its beliefs, tools and skills.
The objective of the pilot is therefore remains to share know-how and experiences among stakeholders which have good examples in delivering results through cooperation, bearing in mind that there can be many different ways to be successful.
Participants in Bergen will report on cooperation experiences run by regions of different EU and non-EU members states regarding the possible implementation in macro-regional strategies. We will also have an intervention by the IVC Programme on the importance of synergies and INTERACT will explain how an EGTC can help in managing cooperation projects.
