The City of Warsaw is launching in September an online platform for local creative entrepreneurs – www.creatives.waw.pl. The website will be both a knowledge base and networking place for creative entrepreneurs – it is where they will find information about support programs, events and innitiatives, they will be able to socialize with other entrepreneurs from the sector, advertize themselves and make business connections.
The idea for the platform in its present form appeared in spring 2010, when Warsaw started developing the creative district action plan. Later, the need for such a tool appeared also as one of the recommendations in the creative district action plan.
The building of the platform began in winter 2010. It is financed partly in the scope of the Creative Metropoles project and partly form the City’s own means. On 22nd of September the Creative Mixer event will take place and the platform will be presented to Warsaw’s creative sector. The event will also be an opportunity to present the outcomes of the Creative Metropoles project and publications such as the portfolio of best practices or guide to local creative sector. The the event will take form of a disscusion on different aproches to creative sector in Warsaw. Stategic partner in this project is British Council Poland, who will present their publications and programms aimed at supporting creative entrepreneurs.
